Virtual dialogue: What have we learned from funding COVID-19 research across the globe?

You are invited to a virtual event, co-hosted by the UK Collaborative for Development Research (UKCDR) and Global Research Collaboration for Infectious Disease Preparedness (GloPID-R) ‘What have we learned from funding research in low- and middle-income countries during COVID-19?’  on 2nd November 2021. This dialogue will facilitate discussion on what global funders have learnt from funding COVID-19 research, with a specific focus on low-and middle-income countries. These lessons provide an opportunity to inform future funding and research practice in epidemics and pandemics.

This event is targeted at global funders and researchers of COVID-19 with a focus on low- and middle-income countries, and will:

  • Introduce findings from the soon to be publishedFunding and undertaking research during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic: COVID CIRCLE lessons for fundersReport
  • Provide an opportunity for funders to reflect and discuss how to improve funding research and build partnerships for future pandemics and epidemics
  • Present case studies to showcase and evidence where innovative partnerships and funding calls have had a positive impact during the COVID-19 pandemic
