We welcome the addition of Dr Elvis Temfack to the COVID-19 Clinical Research Coalition’s Steering Committee as a representative of the African Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).

Dr Temfack has extensive knowledge and experience in clinical research and clinical case management and is currently a member of the Africa CDC COVID-19 clinical case management technical working group. Prior to joining Africa CDC, he worked with Epicentre in Paris, a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Research in Epidemiology and Response to Emerging Diseases.

Dr Temfack is an active member of several professional societies including the European Society of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) and American Society of Microbiology initiative (ASM). He is also a member of many collaborative working groups, especially those addressing research in human health.

As the Coalition’s mission and scope evolve in the coming months, Dr Temfack’s expertise will provide valuable and timely input to our next steps.
